Santa was out and about again this year with all his helpers from the Helensburgh New South Wales Fire Brigade. Brigade members work each year with Santa to bring a smile to local children who wait to hear the siren of fire truck Santa. Santa also had helpers walking the streets, talking with families and children about fire safety. During the day 1,000 fire safety information sheets were given out and delivered . Topics were Smoke Alarms, Fire Safety Hints, Rescue and Bush Fire Safety.
Santa said that Christmas was a great time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors, as this is a very important and life saving item.

Helensburgh New South Wales firefighters each year give their time to bring this event to the children of our town and local community.
A special thank you must go to other Santa helpers.
The Helensburgh Lions Club and Mrs Ann Lawson.

This special cultural event started about 25 yrs ago and at that time only took a few hours to organize and deliver. Today this time has grown with the population of Helensburgh.
